Karen Tanner

Karen is a qualified psychoanalytic couple psychotherapist who trained at Tavistock Relationships. 

Although she specialises in working with couples, she has extensive experience working with families, parents and children with a wide range of emotional and mental health issues. She has a background in social work, which included a teaching position at Goldsmiths College and numerous publications.

Karen has worked at the Maudsley and Great Ormond Street hospitals and the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. She has a keen interest in the training of professionals and has taught and supervised on a range of courses. At the Tavistock and Portman, she was the Deputy Director for Education and Training, with a strategic role in developing the Trust's specialist portfolio in mental health and social and emotional well-being.

She also has an interest in the relationship between individuals and organisations and contribute to training in this area.

She is registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council.
